I am sure you are wonder what is in store for our young hero Kyle, nyah? Read and find out in Sunny Storm: Chapter Six!

Sunny Storm
~Chapter 6~
Rashad and I stayed the night at the church. It felt great to take the evening to relax and recover from today’s events. We spent the night in the basement of the church. It was dark, cold, and filled with crates and boxes. Father Luke gave use pillows and heavy blankets to make our stay more comfortable.  Neither Rashad nor I went to bed right away. He was talking with Father Luke and the nun. I was sitting on the ground in the basement. A lantern was lit and sitting next to me while I stared memorized by my sword. Ever since I learned that new spell, I was able to make it glow a bright white. It was very fascinating. It made me wonder how my sword would react from other spells.
“I am surprised you are not asleep. You had a long day.” Rashad said as he came into the basement.
“The same could be said for you.” I replied.
“That is true but you had it much more rough day than I had. You fought a chimera, and became an official spell-blade with your first spell. You must be very exhausted.” The priest said. He took a seat next to me and prepared for bed. “I should apologize for not helping you during your fight. It might not be able to tell from my appearance, but I was not always a priest. In my much younger days, I was a fighter.”
“Seriously? I thought you looked pretty buff for a holy person. Why did you give up being a fighter?” I asked.
“Oh…I became too tired of it. I will tell you about it another time.” Rashad said in a hesitated tone. He continued to go to bed, and so did I. I turned off the lantern as the two of us went to sleep. That sleep did not last because a noise woke us up in the middle of the night. The basement door slowly squeaked opened. Footsteps started to walk down the wooden steps, but soon those footsteps sounded like someone was falling down the stairs. Rashad and I quickly woke up when there a loud thud on the stairs. I turn on the lantern to see what had fallen. It was a surprise to see it was a girl that was the same age as me. She had long, black hair and dark brown eyes. She wore a maid’s outfit with black shoes. A small, brown leather pouch was tied to her waste. The girl was rubbing her head after her sudden fall.
“Oww! That hurt a lot!” The mysterious girl cried.
“Who are you?” Rashad asked. The girl just laughed as she stood up from her spot. She gave the two us a grin and a stare, and replied, “I am your worst nightmare.”

Sunny Storm: Chapter 5

Hello everyone! I hope we all had a great Thanksgiving with family, friends, or whoever you celebrate it with. Sorry for being late on the update. I got sick right after my Thanksgiving break was over. That means I had six days off, including weekends (hahaha)! In the story, Kyle and Rashad will return to the church with the herbs for Father Luke. What is this lead to next? Is Kyle get any closer to knowing what a spell-blade it? Find out in Sunny Storm: Chapter 5!

Sunny Storm
~Chapter 5~

Rashad and I walked up the stairs of the abandoned church with herb to heal Father Luke. It hurt to walk up steps because of my back. The soreness and pressure radiated down my entire spine and lower shoulders. I hope that there would be no more chimeras for a long time. The nun was still by the old priest’s bed sit. He continued to cough harshly from his illness. Rashad gave her the herbs and she examined them. A sudden smile came on her face as she said, “Congratulations future spell-blade. You passed.” Rashad and I looked at each other in confusion.
“Yes. Congratulations on passing your first test.” Father Luke said. He stopped coughing and did not look so pale, anymore.
“Were you faking your sickness this entire time, Father Luke?” Rashad asked.
“Yes, but for good reason. I like said before, this was a test.” The elder priest answered. “Not everyone can become a spell-blade. They must pass several different trails to prove their worth, and gain the power that they rightfully deserve.”
“Then you know what a spell-blade is, right?” I asked. This actually turned out better than I expected. This was finally what I waited for. Master Magenta would be proud of me if he was alive, today. Though, maybe he was proud of even in the afterlife.
"Yes we do. A spell-blade uses magic to to their weapons. Most spell-blades use swords, which the name original came from. There might be mages, sages, necromancers, and other people that know magic, but spell-blades were special. They could use magic just with their sword, alone. Although, they were completely different as well." Father Luke started to explain. "You can not use magic without the sword. You can make the blade of the sword catch on fire, but you need a sword. There use to be dozens of spells blades many years ago. Though, some spell-blades started taking advantage of their powers. In the end, only one to few can have that title these days. It is my job with many other people in the world to test a person to see if they are worthy of being a spell-blade. Now, it is time to gain your first spell."
The elder priest reached under his pillow and took a book from under it. He took a page out that looked a lot older and different from all the other pages in the book. The handed it to the nun, who then walked up to me and asked, "Kyle? Do you promise to use the spell of Healing to heal those who are ill, and save the wounded who are dying? If you answer yes, than we, Keepers of the Healing Spell, bestow upon you this spell."
"Yes. I will take this responsibility as a spell-blade." I answered. The nun than handed me the page. I looked at it. The page was very old, and the writing was hard to read. It was not even in English. Though, that suddenly changed as I felt a powerful rush in my head. It was like all the writing on the page made sense, and it was sending all this information into my brain at once. It got too unbearable, and I eventually feel to the ground. I dropped the page and held my head in pain. The nun and Rashad knelled over me.
"Kyle! Are you okay?" The priest asked.
"Yeah...My head just hurts so much..." I answered in pain.
"It always hurts the first time you remember a spell. Do not worry. All the spell-blades go through that their first time. It gets easier after awhile. That is why we made you grab the herbs. They help heal headaches." Father Luke said.
"I use them in tea. I will go make you some right now." The nun said.
"Allow me to assist you." Rashad said. The two walked downstairs. I continued to sit on the ground. I held my head in pain. I wished my master had told me this would be painful the first time. That must be what he meant by, "You live and learn through life's everyday experiences". The only problem this was not part of life's everyday experiences.

Sunny Storm: Chapter Four

Last time in Sunny Storm, Kyle and Rashad go back to the forest for the herb to help the high priest. Though, a fearful creature lies in the forest. What will happen to them? Read and find out in this lastest chapter!

Sunny Storm
~Chapter 4~
Rashad and I made our way back to the forest. It seems like I was getting nowhere at this point, but maybe I will find what I am looking for after helping the high priest. As we walked into the forest, Rashad said, “We may be going up against a powerful creature, Kyle. I hope your swordsmen skills are not in need of practice.”
“To be honest, I never used a sword before,” I replied. Rashad stopped after hearing that.
“You mean…you do not know how to use a sword?” He asked.
“I never even touched one until my master gave me one, before he died.” I answered.
“Then how do you intend to fight this creature?! You could get yourselves killed!” Rashad warned.
“I won’t know until I try, right?” I replied. “Besides, do you even know what the type of herb we are looking for?”
“If my memory serves me correctly, there is an herb that has great effects on colds. It grows in a forest like this, but under dark climates with barely any sunlight.” The priest answers. “That might be where this creature is.” We continued walked deeper into the forest. I started to feel excited and fear. I never fought a creature before, and Rashad was right. I never even used a sword before. There was a possible chance that I could be putting my life at stake. Though, I had to at least try. This so called creature could have just been a wild dog or boar. How bad could this so-called “creature” be, anyways? Suddenly, a loud roar made use stop in our tracks. Birds flee away quickly from the area.
A shadowy figure stepped in front. It stood twice as tall as us. It had the head of a dragon and a lion sharing the same body. The tail was a snake with venom dripping from its fangs.
“A chimera? How is it possible for a creature like this to be out here?” Rashad asked in surprised.
“What’s a chimera?” I asked.
“It is a creature that was part of an experiment of science and alchemy. It is when you combine two or more creatures to make a new one. Chimeras are rare and some are known to be highly dangerous.” Rashad explained. The lion head roared as the dragon spewed fire from its mouth. Rashad and I quickly got out of the way.
“You gather the herb, Rashad! I will distract him!” I called out to him. He nodded, and ran past the chimera. The two headed creature was about to turn around and chase after him, but I stabbed my sword in to one of its paw. The two heads roared in pain and smacked me with its opposite front paw. I was sent flying in to a nearby tree, and my back slammed against its trunk. The wind was completely knocked out of me, but I had to keep going. I slowly got up as I saw Rashad hurry to gather the herbs from their roots The chimera was slowly turning towards his direction, again. I ran to another tree that stood above the chimera.
I climbed the tree quickly as I yelled out to my priest friend, “Rashad! Grab my sword and toss it to me.” He quickly turned to see the chimera run towards him. The dragon head breathed fire from its mouth, but he quickly ran in front of the creature before getting hurt. He quickly pulled the blade from the creature’s paw, and tossed it to me. I caught it and jumped down on the creature. I climbed on to the dragon’s head, and stabbed my sword in to its eyes. The dragon cried out in pain, and rose up on to its hind legs. I almost fell off, but I held on tightly to one of its scales on its head. I stabbed my sword into its other eye. It cried out in louder pain and threw me off while it shook his head in a wild manner. My body fell harshly to the ground. Rashad and I looked up to see what the chimera would do next.
The dragon’s head still cried in pain, and was in a fit of rage. In his angry and painful state, the dragon’s head breathe fire on to the lion’s head. The lion’s head fell limp. Smoke rised from it blackened head that had been burnt from a direct fire. That was one less problem to worry about. I ran towards the chimera and plunged my sword in the dragon’s neck. He cried out one last time before the body tipped over. Blood streamed from its neck as I removed my sword. I chopped of the snake that acted as a tail. It was attached to a large body, and would die anyways from lack of food. It died in a matter of seconds. I breathed heavily as I felt a sudden pain rush up my back. I fell to my knees, but Rashad helped me keep standing.
“Did you get the herb?” I asked. He nodded and showed me the dark green herb in his hand.

Sunny Storm: Chapter Three

In the third chapter of "Sunny Storm", Kyle and Rashad finally arrive at Saint Andre's Church. Though, everything is not right in the state of Denmark. What obstacle has gotten in their way? Read and find out! Also, there will be a new chapter every other week, now. Sorry for the delay for those looking for it last week.

Sunny Storm
~Chapter Three~
Rashad and I continued our journey to Saint Andre’s Church early the next morning. There was a loud howling sound that echoed throughout the forest. We thought it was a wolf, but it felt like the earth shook. All the birds and small animals nearby dispersed quickly. We ignored it and found our way out of the forest, and on to a dirt roar. We had arrived in at St. Andre’s Church by late morning. It looked like a nice, small church that most towns would have. It was white and made from bricks of marble. It had stain glass windows and a large, golden cross stood on top of the building. It shined brightly from the sunlight. A tall, wooden bell tower stood next to it. A garden of spring bloodroot flowers surrounded the entire outside of the church, except for the entrance. Rashad and I walked in to the church to see it was completely empty.
“Where is everyone? I never seen a church so empty before.” Rashad said. We suddenly heard some loud coughing coming from the stairs to the far right. We walked up the stairs to another room. In there was a small bedroom. A nun stood over an old priest, who wore a bright white robe. I assumed that he was the high priest that Rashad had mentioned from before. The priest in white was in bed, cough harshly. He looked very pale and sickly.
“What has happened here?” Rashad asked as he walked towards the priest’s bedside. He took his hat off in respect.
“It has seems that Father Luke has gotten gravely ill. The other priest tried to get him a healing herb from the forest near this church, but an evil beast lies there. All the other priests and nuns got afraid that the beast would arrive here and left. We have not gotten any visitors in about a month. I decided to stay here until Father Luke has left this world to meet with our Lord.” The nun said. Luke moaned in pain from his illness, and coughed harshly.
”Oh, what a sweet, loyal child that stands before me. God has blessed me with such a kind person. You should just leave this old soul to be. My time is up.” Luke said. He continued to cough harshly. The nun just smiled at him and placed her palm on his head to see if he had a fever. I felt bad for Luke. He looked almost the same age as Master Magenta, but a few years older. I came with Rashad to learn about what a spell-blade is, but I had to help this old man.  I would just have to find out what a spell-blade was, later.
“I will go to the forest and get the healing herb for him.” I said.
“Did you not hear what this nun has said? There is a beast in the forest.  Maybe that is a sign that it truly is time for Father Luke to pass away. You efforts would be in vein if that is true.” Rashad said.
“My master once told me that you will never know the outcome of things until you try. I might not follow this “word of God” like you holy people do, but I think Father Luke will get better if someone can get the herb he needs.” I replied. It remained silent as I made my way downstairs. Suddenly, I heard heavy footsteps from behind me.
“Wait! I will come with you.” Rashad said with a smile. I smiled back at him as we both went downstairs to go back into the forest. It seems that things would be a lot more dangerous for now on.

Sunny Storm: Chapter Two

I am glad to see from the comments that people are enjoying the story, thus far. In this next chapter, Kyle gets ready to leave for his quest in becoming a spell-blade. Though, he meets someone that may beable to assist him. Who could it be? Find out in this latest chapter of "Sunny Storm"! I also apologize for not having a chapter up last week.

Sunny Storm
~Chapter 2~
I could not continue crying like this. There is nothing else for me to do, but carry out my master’s wish. I buried his body first in front of our house. At least what was left from the horrific fire. Once Master Magenta was buried, I wanted to bury Isaac. That would be a lot of hard work to find his body under the wreckage of his store. I really could not blame him for running back into the building. Master Magenta once told me that the grocer’s store meant a lot of him. It was his home, and pretty much his reason for living. He had no family for him to care for or worry about.
“Hello? Is anyone still alive?” I heard a deep voice ask. I turn around to see a tall man walk into the ruined town. He had blue eyes and long blonde hair that went down his back. I could tell that he was part of a church, because he wore a robe with a white collar, a cross brooch on the left side of his robe, black dress pants, and a black wide yet thin black hat. On his right wrist was a bracelet of black, white, and gray beads. He carried a bible in his left hand. For a man that followed the Holy Book, I was pretty surprised to see how muscular he looked.
“Over here,” I called to him. When he saw me, a weak smile grew on his face.
“Hello, my child. I hope I am not intruding, but I had to make sure there were survivors,” the man said. “By the way, my name is Rashad. What is your name?”
“My name is Kyle, and you were not intruding. I was actually trying to solve a problem of mine,” I explained to him. “You see, my friend’s body is trapped under this mess. I need to try to find a way to get him out of there without doing any more damage to him.”
“Is that all? Then please let me handle this for you, my child,” Rashad said. He gave me his hat and Bible to hold as he rolled up his sleeves. What he did next was the last thing I expected a holy man to do. He started throwing off large pieces of wood, iron, and anything else that remained from Isaac’s store. Rashad continued to do this until a body was found. He pulled the body out of the rubble, and I was even more surprised, to see that Isaac’s body did not turn to ash, though, he had several cuts, and burn marks. I buried him in front of what was left of his once loveable store. After that, Rashad helped me bury everyone else in the town, and rescue bodies that were trapped under the rubble of houses and stores. Rashad said a silent prayer to each grave, so that each person’s soul can rest in peace. It wasn’t until I heard the early crickets in the distance that I realized that the day went by so fast. The sun was setting over the horizon, painting the landscape with a mixture of orange and red.
“Where will you be heading to now, my child? Surely you have family that you can live with,” Rashad said as put his hat back on.
“No. My parents are gone, my master is gone, and I don’t think I have any blood family left,” I explained to the priest. “Besides, I need to fulfill Master Magenta’s final wish, and become a spell-blade.”
“Wait! If you are going to become a spell-blade, then please let me assistant you!” Rashad said excitingly. “I heard of some type of blade magic from my fellow brothers and sisters of the church. I have no idea what that is, but it is supposed to be located at Saint Andre’s Church, which the exact place I am going.”
“That would be a great idea!” The only reason I agreed to go with Rashad is because I thought he knew the way to Saint Andre’s Church. We spent the next few hours walking in a forest with several trees, bushes, and plants. A few times, I felt like we were walking in a circle. I could not be sure because it started to get darker as time went on. Rashad knew actually where we were going….I hoped. When it became too dark for us to continue traveling, the two of us decided to sleep where we stood. I was not going to argue, because I was too tired to care where I slept. To be honest, I would have slept on a pile of itchy hay if that was the closest bed that I could find. As the night went on, and I started to fall asleep, I swore I could hear Rashad pray, “Oh heavens! Please guide us for I have no idea where Saint Andre’s Church is, or what it looks like.”

Sunny Storm: Chapter 1

Hello to all who reads this blog. I had an idea for a story that I will be posting on here. Each week will be a new chapter. Please tell me what you think. Any comments would be nice. Do not be afraid to leave any response. Please enjoy this first chapter of “Sunny Storm”.

Sunny Storm
Chapter 1
I knew it had to be one of those beautiful, sunny days outside, because the sunlight was shinning on my face. My bed is right in front of the window in my room, so it always did. I wanted to sleep some more, so I covered my face with a pillow.
“Kyle! Wake up! It’s time to get to work!”  Master Magenta called from downstairs. Master Magenta is a tall man in his early fifties, with short grey hair. He is also my guardian since my parents were killed in a bandit raid. He has watched over me since I was five years-old. By the time I was old enough to work, Master Magenta made me deliver everything that he makes for the townspeople. He is a carpenter, and the best one I ever known.
“Kyle! I said wake up! Do you want me to come up there, and throw you out of bed?” he called once again. I knew that both Master Magenta and the sun would not let me sleep, so I crawled out of bed. I made my way to my dresser, and put on my regular clothes. They were a black, buttoned-up shirt, a pair of baggy brown pants, and boots. I placed my black goggles with green lenses on my head, where my thick, long black hair flowed. Master Magenta always said that my hair was too long. I do not really care, though. I like my waist length hair. Before he started yelling at me again, I walked down the wooden stairs to the living room. Master Magenta was hammering a nail to one of the legs of a wooden chair.
“Good morning, Kyle. I see that you are finally up.” Master Magenta said to me. “I need you to deliver this chair straight to Isaac. Though, I am going to miss this chair very much. This is my greatest masterpiece.”
“Of course it’s your greatest masterpiece. Everything you build is your greatest masterpiece, until you finish building the next one.” I said, still irritated for being woken up.
“That is true. This is only because, I continue to get better each time I build something new.” Master Magenta said. “Now hurry up and give this to Isaac! I don’t pay you to sit around all day.” I wanted to say, “You don’t pay me at all”, but that isn’t true. Instead of giving me money, he pays with food, shelter, and friendship. Everyday, I am thankful to have met him. I picked up the wooden chair Master Magenta made, and made my way out of his house.
The delivery was to Isaac, the town’s grocer. He is a kind, and short man that who is the same age as Master Magenta. If you want to stay on his good side, never mention or make fun of his height. He will become as angry as a bull if you do so. As I walked through the town it was as peaceful as ever with people talking amongst themselves or working. The children were playing with each other in the patch of grass in town. Farm animals were walking in the fields without a simple care in the world. This town had always been like this even, on stormy days. It never changed during the time I lived here. I liked the peace and quiet. It somewhat grew on me over the years. I walked over to Isaac’s store to see him standing at the counter.
“Good morning, Kyle! Did you come to bring the chair I asked Magenta to build for me?” Isaac asked with friendly smile.
“Yes I have. Here you go.” I answered. I carried the wooden chair to the other side of counter where Isaac stood. He examined the wooden furniture up and down, probably to make sure there were no mistakes. He never wanted to spend money on something that would break quickly.
“Thank you for bringing the chair over. I needed a new one for my dining room. Here is your payment.” the grocer said. He pulled a small bag of golden coins from his pocket and handed it to me. I took the money and made my way back to Master Magenta’s house. Before I could leave, Isaac stopped at the doorway.
“By the way, you are eighteen now, right? Why don’t you leave Magenta, and go out in the world? He can take care of himself; you have been stuck here for thirteen years.” Isaac said.
“No. I like living here with Master. I will leave this town when I feel like it.” I said to Isaac with a smile.
“I guess you can do whatever you want with your life, Kyle. I’m just saying that Magenta will not live---“. He was interrupted by a large crash from outside. Both Isaac and I ran out of the store to see one of the town houses covered in complete flames. The people in town were running into their own houses, or trying to put out the fire. A man hidden in a black robe and hood stood the middle of the town. He slowly turned to look towards us. A large ball of fire formed in his right hand, and he threw it towards me and Isaac. The impact knocked both Isaac and me to ground.
“No! My store! My beautiful, wonderful store!” the grocer cried, and then ran in the burning store.
“Isaac! You can’t go in there! You will get yourself killed!” I called after him, but he never came out. I had to save him, but first I had to deal with the man causing the fires. I charged towards him, having noting but my bare fist to defend myself. Time seemed to slow down as he moved behind me. Before I knew it, he knocked me out cold with a heavy blow to my head. I lay on the hard ground, unconscious. When I came to hours later, everything was gone. The whole town, from building to fields, was burnt to ground. I stood up, trying to keep myself from bursting into tears. My eyes continued to look at the horrifying sight, and suddenly they locked onto something.
“Master Magenta!” I cried as I ran towards him. He lay in front of his burnt house, holding a sheathed sword in his left hands. He was covered from head to toe in cuts and burn marks.
“…Kyle. You must listen…and listen well…” Master Magenta said, breathing heavily. “…Take this that I hold…and get the spells….Get the spells and become a spell-blade…”
“Get spells and become a spell blade? What is a spell-blade?” I asked. Why am I asking these questions? I needed to get help for Master Magenta’s injuries.
“…Kyle…There is too much for me to explain right now…I need to save the sword now…The world is in terrible danger…The end of my life is near…” said Master Magenta.
“Stop talking nonsense! You’re going to be alright! You just need to see a doctor!” I cried.
“…It is too late Kyle…Take the sword…Follow my directions…Hurry…Get the…spells…” said Master Magenta, letting go his last breathe.
“Wake up, Master! Wake up, Master Magenta!” I cried, tears pouring down my face. I knew that the man in the black robe did this to Master Magenta. He destroyed the entire town, my only home. I had to follow Master’s instructions and become a spell-blade.

First Post

Hello to anyone who is reading this. This is my first post to my first blog. I hope you enjoy my future post...That is all...
